Welcome to the 2018/19 season of Waterloo Regional Synchronized Swim Club. We look forward to another exciting year with new and returning coaches.
Synchronized Swimming is both a unique and challenging sport. While developing a high level of physical fitness, the athlete also acquires grace, poise, confidence and pride. The girls develop a team camaraderie and club spirit as they gain experience throughout the competitive program. They have tremendous pride in participating in a sport that is beautiful to watch. As a synchronized swimmer, the athlete learns respect, cooperation, commitment and above all, good sportsmanship. Waterloo Synchro’s competitive program is based on Synchro Canada ‘s competitive structure which is designed around the Canada Sport Centres’ Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) Training to Train and Training to Compete Stages.
Previous synchro experience is necessary for National level program and swimmers will be required to attend a try-out before being offered a position on a National level team. As with all competitive programs at WRSSC, commitment to the sport is required of all swimmers and parents joining this program.
Each member of our National programs will be placed on an age appropriate team. Swimmers may also be chosen to swim in a solo or a duet with a swimmer within their age group. Solo and duet practices are two hour per week. For all extra routines, the final selection is determined by the Head Coach. There is an additional fee for duets.
Competitions for the season will include minimum of 4 competitions. Swimmers in the national system will compete at the Provincial Trials (January), Provincial Championships (February), Eastern Canadian Divisional Championships (March) and Canadian National Championships (May).
All National programs begin in September. If you are interested in trying out for our National teams in the 2018/2019 season please contact us for information: firstname.lastname@example.org
